Job Description


Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the human, program, finance, fundraising and other material resources of the LRP in line with AAE programme direction as well as finance and Human resource policies and procedures. Lead partnership development and management for compliance as well as policy campaign work at Woreda, zonal, regional level. Supports the effective functioning of the LRP by providing administration and programme support and coordination and ensures synergy and collaborative  relationships are enabled within the  LRP. Guides  and  support compliance to policies, frameworks, Programme quality and other standards and systems.

Key Activities

  • Lead and build the LRP staff in line with AAE mission, strategies and values as well as represent AAE at Reginal, Zone and Woreda levels
  • Build effective and value-oriented team at the duty areas and mobilize the necessary supports from HR/OD and other departments; facilitate conducive working environment into all programme works and staff management;
  • Lead the LRP development strategies, the establishment and institutional capacities
  • Guides and leads the effective implementation of projects / programme at the LRP and ensures programme quality standards, coordinate and manage the LRP plans of work, monitors deliverables, and flags areas of concern in a timely manner.
  • Leading policy and partnership engagements at regional and local level. Bring evidence- based inputs for policy and advocacy tasks Leads evidence building, research, learning and policy work in the LRP.
  • Ensure and lead CBO capacity, System, structure within the cluster to build their institutional capacities.
  • Ensure the Empowerment of the agency of the people living in poverty to own, sustain and scale up program outcomes and best practices,
  • Facilitate processes of community participation, mobilization, organization and leadership development processes to ensure strategic and sustainable local level development;
  • Coordinate the preparation of program documents, strategic plans and annual operational plans and budgets in line with CSP, with active participation of the community and their agencies,
  • Coordinate and facilitate program quality, LRP effectiveness M&E, Documentation and reporting
  • Understand and share the various policies and procedures of AAE and ensure their implementations and adherences by all staff at the LRP;
  • Lead the LRP programme development, implementation as per the LRP’s strategy and annual plan. Lead the strategic and annual plans, budget and actions plans of the LRP
  • Lead the participatory programme design/planning, appraisal, and implementation of development programmes in the area;

Job Requirement

  • BA/MA in rural development, Agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, or other related disciplines
  • A minimum of 8 /6 years of relevant experience for BA/MA Degree respectively,
  • Knowledge and experience of strategic plan development, team building, participatory development approaches, basic management skills, project planning and M&E, fund raising, partnership and relationship building, knowledge generation/documentation and sharing
  • A good knowledge of HRBA programming
