Job Description


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under supervision of and accountable to the Sub-Project Office Coordinator the Livestock Management Officer will be in charge of project activities to be implemented
    within local communities in Gelana Woreda and provide the needed technical support.
  • Responsible for implementation of project activities which include interactive training and learning support on livestock rearing, and productive management; feed (fodder/forage) development and management; range land management; tracking animal health problems and taking actions in collaboration with project intervention
    woredas animal health institutions, responsible for preparing monthly reports for the activities undertaken within the woredas to the facilitators and PPME, keep appropriate records of community members who are supported by the project. Work in close collaboration with other staff members within the project.
  • Responsible for preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual reports for the activities undertaken within the project intervention kebeles.

JOB REQUIREMENT

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

the potential candidate for the post should have Bachelor Degree or above from recognized Universities/Colleges in the field of livestock management with a combination of Diploma in Veterinary Science if it is possible. Besides, s/he should have at least 6 years for services. Further a demonstrable work experience in areas of livestock management at community level. NGO experience is an advantage.

Language requirement: speaking and understanding Afan Oromo (Oromifa) is mandatory.

Additional Requirements

  • Competency in computer applications of MS Offices packages is required.
    Fluency in understanding, writing and speaking Amharic and English languages is mandatory.
    Knowledge in Oromifa language is needed.
    Cooperative, team player, gender sensitive and excellent in interpersonal relationships.
    Have a strong commitment and openness to learn and share
