Ethiopia Reads is a foreign non profitable, non-governmental organization established with the aim of promoting reading culture in Ethiopia in order to bring hope, vision and educational skills to this generation of Ethiopian children. Ethiopia Reads would like to invite dynamic and creative applicants for the librarian position for its Children’s community Library functioning in Addis Ababa.

Position: Librarian No. of Position: 1 (one) Sex: Female/ Male Salary: Negotiable

Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Educational Qualification

• BA Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Library Science, in preschool Teaching or in any related field
• 12th grade certificate with the old curriculum or 10th grade certificate complete with the new curriculum

Working experience: One year relevant experience for Degree and Diploma and at least two years relevant experience for certificate working in Library or school environment in the above mentioned fields or related fields

Having a teaching experience in KG is highly advantageous

• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization;
• Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques;
• Skills on different computer programs and platforms like Office Suite, internet and e- mail;
• Understand the sense of volunteerism and exercise it, show willingness to execute tasks as assigned by supervisors;
• Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of library users;
• Develop creative and unique ways to improve operations of the library as well as the organization and to create new opportunities
• Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problem, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness

Language requirement: Proficiency in English language is a requirement
