Job Description

Job Purpose;

  • To provide IT support and enter data for all Nutrition activities related to refugee response programme in Pugnido and Gambella Offices. The Junior data entry clerk and IT support officer will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of this data and producing reports as required.

Main duties and Responsibilities;

  • Enter all data accurately and in a timely manner per instructions of the MEAL Coordinator
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date data.
  • Assure protection of the systems and data by performing at least one system back up.
  • Ensure that confidentiality of data collected and stored are maintained
  • Ensure that data entry work is implemented as planned and in line with Save the Children policies and procedures and meet the expected standards.
  • Produce High quality, analytical reports and supply to SC program on regular basis
  • Update data on beneficiaries on regular basis
  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Replace IT parts as required
  • Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
  • Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
  • Support the roll-out of new applications
  • Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
  • Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
  • priorities and manage many open help desk call system portal
  • performing data entry activity for the team
  • rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers
  • test and evaluate new technology
  • conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
  •  Other duties as assigned.

  • work with relevant colleagues  to ensure that the Complaints and Response Mechanism (CRM) is functional and accessible, that feedback and complaints are welcomed and addressed;
  •  Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that information about CRM, safeguarding and expected staff behaviour is disseminated among programme participants and communities.

Job Requirements

Person Specifications

Education, Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • BSC in computer science with 1year work experience in a data entry or related position, preferably with increasing responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in computer software such as Windows, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multicultural development team.
  • Efficient skill for posting data into computer (Fast typing)
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Experience in working in refugee station in the area of child protection
  • Willingness to live in a hardship area

Competencies 

  • Ability and willingness to frequently travel and stay at the field
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization developing effective working relationships to deliver outstanding results for target beneficiaries.
  • Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff and working with Project stakeholders
  • Good negotiation skill with government and other agencies
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
  • Good interpersonal skills and team player with sensitivity to cultural diversity
  • Ability to work under pressure
  •  Able to recognize possible signs of child and adult abuse, harm and neglect
