Job Summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to help create a new, national payment platform? EthSwitch is seeking a results-oriented leader to closely work with a technology vendor as well as various participants to assure a successful  implementation of the instant payment switch, payment gateway as well as the wallet platform.

We are looking for a strong infrastructure expert with passion for solving hard problems, willingness to deal with ambiguity and strive for engineering excellence. You will be a member of the program management office (PMO) team and will support the project execution and governance by playing the role of a infrastructure lead. You must have a track record of understanding customer needs and delivering technology solutions to address those needs.

You will be responsible for activates such as prepare production, disaster recovery, staging, certification and UAT environments in collaboration with Ethswitch’s team. This includes analysis if current DC and DR sites are adequate for installation or identify new sites and set up infrastructure accordingly. Manage deployment of the respective payment system on both Primary and Disaster Recovery sites and it’s SLA (service level agreement). Establish connectivity with participants (primary and secondary links), implement NOC monitoring tool, implement NMS (Network Management System, FIM (File Integrity Monitoring, DLP (Data Leakage Prevention) tools, Anti-Virus, Two-Factor authentication tools, implement Database level encryption; usage of CA signed certificates for servers, During UAT phase, supervise non-functional tests during UAT.

The expert will also perform security testing of respective payment system, perform stress testing / performance testing of the respective payment system, provide training, SOPs and details of activities to Ethswitch teams to manage operations, onboard participants, conduct any future integration. Handover all operations tasks to respective Ethswitch team with necessary documents.

EthSwitch’s strategic vision is to scale digital retail payments transactions in Ethiopia by being a best-in-class switch that enables all value chain participants. To realize this vision, EthSwitch has initiated this journey, with the support from partners, to launch a real-time retail payment platform and develop the payment scheme that will go along with it.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • ·Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Software Development, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Payments system professional with experience implementing payment systems and development of payment solutions. Specifically areas of instant payment switches, payment gateways, and wallet platforms, preferably in an interoperable environment
  •  Extensive technical knowledge of payment systems covering Debit card/ Credit card  / POS / Merchant Management, CBS, Payment switch, ACH, RTGS, Clearing System, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking & Digital Wallet.
  •  Knowledge and hands on experience in Linux Based systems, shell scripting and automating routine activities.
  • Administering Linux based systems, File systems, Databases, Server, Storages, etc…
  • Experience in Virtualization systems management like XEN –Center, and VM-Ware.
  •  Knowledge and hands on experience in Oracle Database Backing Up and Recovery operations.
  •  Knowledge and hands on experience in Computer Networking, LAN, WAN, ROUTING, SWITCHING, IPSEC-VPN, NAT etc …
  • Experience in networking services, like AD, DNS, DHCP, SFTP, FTPS, Both in windows based server and Linux based systems.
  • Hands on experience working on security devices such as CISCO – ASA, Forti gate Firewall, Forti Manager and Forti Analyzer.
  • Experience in implementation Intrusion detection system.
  • Experience in email servers configuration and management, exchange server.
  •  Must have proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to understand the business requirement and help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
  •  Hands-on experience in managing, troubleshooting and resolving problems related to payment switches and channels.
  •  Certified in various industry standard practices including project management
  •  Can demonstrate international experience
