Job Description


Community in Action Against Poverty (CAAP) is a non-profit Local organization focusing on Humanitarian, development, justice and peace building works, that aims to save lives, strengthening local economies, building resilient communities and promote justice, accountable and democratic governance, to ensure stable and inclusive Somali region in Somali region and Ethiopia at large.

Job Purpose Summary:

To setup organizational-standard ICT systems in the GFD Program and staff.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Configuration of new computers or existing CAAP-owned computers for new users as per the organizational standards for computer setup
  • Processing of CAAP email accounts for incoming staff
  • Installation of wired and wireless local area networks
  • Developing basic user manuals for Microsoft Office applications
  • Training Programs Online Development (POD) users
  • Install Food systems software
  • Support Targeting and Digital Registration of beneficiaries
  • Keeping software on all CAAP-owned computers and ICT devices up-to-date
  • Scheduling preventive maintenance of ICT assets in respective assigned woreda
  • Guiding colleagues through troubleshooting procedures of computer issues via email, phone calls, face to face discussions or Skype
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Department: Project Implementation Unit

Direct Hierarchy: MEAL Officer

Starting date: ASAP

Contract duration: 2 Months

Career Level: Mid-Level (1-3 years’ experience)

Employment Type: Temporary

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or Degree in Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Social science
  • Knowledge and experience in digital-based tools such as Kobo Collect, ODK, and COMCARE, is mandatory
  • Fluency in Somali and English, both written and verbal
  • High level of commitment and willingness to travel frequent/long distance in hardship areas
  • Demonstrated skills in partnership building and interpersonal communication
  • Knowledge and residing of the working area are preferred
  • Excellent and demonstrated skills in computer Microsoft office applications: Word, Excel,
  • PowerPoint and outlooks, emails
  • Excellent communication and coordination skill, preferably with the community and woreda line departments government
