Job Description


Ethio-Color Printing PLC is a printing company in Ethiopia and established in 2016 primary to provide printing services and import papers from abroad. Ethio-Color has rapidly grown in the past few years by producing different printed materials such as books, magazines, brochures, posters, newspapers, stickers, etc. In all these projects, we strive our best to satisfy our clients by producing quality product on time.

Job Summary/Basic Function: 

The Import & export officer will be responsible for coordinating import & export process for Ethio-Color clients. This person will be the point person on the Documentation for all import and export related issues

Import & export officer

  • Over all Control Import /export Process
  • Documentation for all import and export related issues.
  • Freight cost /Expense /Duty control and reporting
  • Processing Customs Clearance
  • Arrange transportation/shipping line for Export and Import
  • Voucher Reconciliation
  • Monitoring the export process include all documentation and dealing with forwarder
  • Control all raw materials importing record update on voucher book, cross check invoice from supplier before shipment
  • Supplier co-operation;
  • Prepare import permit and other needed document per invoice;
  • Prepare export and custom documents;
  • Communicate with shipping agent & forwarding agent for clearance;
  • Following all bank procedures for import and export issues
  • Communicating with suppliers and customers
  • Responsible for setting up and systematizing everything from contracts, export documentations, handling communication with government authorities, shipping line and various vendors.
  • Identify export markets and demands
  • Ensure that LC terms are complied with and export proceeds are collected timely
  • Identifying, contacting and establishing strong working relationship with buyers, suppliers, brokers, forwarders, transport companies, banks and other involved parties.
  • Making sure that the company follows the relevant governmental rules and regulations in its activities.
  • Manage communication with export authorities, banks and shipping lines for all required documents for our exports.
  • Produced all required documents for each shipment and monitored shipments to guarantee on-time delivery.
  • Identified logistics areas for process improvement and cost and time savings to ensure expectations are met.
  • Follow-up to ensure that shipping documents are timely dispatched to Ethiopia by
  • the Supplier and with correct details.
  • Follow-up on the receipt of documents from Bank by Contract Clearing Agent
  • Receive simulated Duty and respond to duty approval request by Clearing Agent
  • Communicate duty approval to the Agent.
  • Manage issues arising from duty payment process both internally and externally
  • with the Contract Clearing Agent, Banks or Customs.
  • Follow-up to ensure that duty is timely paid.

 Level of Education:

University Degree

Field of Education:

Purchasing & Logistics Management, supply & logistic management, Economics, Business Administration & Finance

Experience: more than 5 years’ experience in Imports & Exports in a large company in

Ethiopia. Able to work with Excel, Word, Email. Strong analytical skills,

good interpersonal skills. Good knowledge of Customs Process including

field experience and knowledge of international trade practices,

Custom Codes and Country Tariff System

Languages:

Amharic, English (strong in reading, writing and speaking)
