Job Objective:

To protect the Bank from future losses and claims arising from legal obligation/commitments through the provision of proper and adequate legal advices to the financing process performers and confirmation of the legality of financing transactions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Designs and prepares financing, pledge/mortgage and other related contracts.
• Mentors/trains the process team members on legal issues.
• Provides legal opinion.
• Reviews contracts, ensures their completeness and signs on it.
• Reviews appropriateness of the registration of mortgage contracts and the collateral insurance policy/contracts.
• Represents the Bank before a court of law, other judicial tribunals and organs.
• Co-keeps security documents with other authorized staff.
• Facilitates proper filing of financing documents/files.
• Tracks legal defects and loopholes and takes/recommends appropriate corrective measures.
• Works collaboratively with financing performers.
• Performing other related duties given by the supervisor.

Job Requirement

Education: LLB Degree in Law

Experience: minimum of 6 years banking experience, of which 3 years in the area of Law.
