Job Description


The Deborah Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Ethiopian youth with mental disabilities through support in the areas of education, health, and policy advocacy.

Summary:

The ICT Teacher and Librarian is responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive technology integration curriculum, as well as managing the school’s library and ICT room. This combined role promotes the integration of technology-enhanced learning experiences, and fosters students’ digital literacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Develop assessment methods to evaluate students’ understanding and progress.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of ICT resources, including computers, software, and peripherals.
  • Oversee the library to ensure cleanliness, order, and protection of the library’s resources
  • Develop and organize library inventory (e.g. with books, collections, periodicals, multimedia, etc.)
  • Conduct regular checks and updates on database information
  • Help students with reading materials and references

Location: Deborah Academy, Sheger City Administration Legetafo Legedadi Sub City

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a diploma in a relevant field
  • Minimum one years of experience as a school librarian or as an ICT teacher
  • Excellent knowledge of children’s and young adult literature, as well as digital resources and information literacy
  • Strong technology skills and the ability to integrate various media and tools into instruction and library services
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and  families
  • Previous experience working with students with special needs.
  • Knowledge of teaching practices for students with special needs.

  • Using Word, excel, and other basic computer knowledge
  • Strong Communication and market fluency
  • The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • Skill in Planning and organizing
  • Have a good Problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • An ability to build good working relationships with other staff
  • Patience and a sense of humor
