As a Human Resources Business Partnership (HRBP) Advisor, you will collaborate with fellow HR professionals, leaders, and employees at all levels, using your consultation skills to help you understand and prioritize your clients’ needs as you research, develop, and implement strategies that leverage relevant data, resources, and best practices. You will work with a high degree of independence and in collaboration with HR Specialists and Centres of Expertise to plan and implement HR processes that complement related policies, legislation & collective agreements.

Description:

As the HRBP Advisor you will provide HR expertise to your assigned clients by advising, coordinating, coaching, and providing strategic direction on a variety of human resource functions with an enhanced focus on workforce initiatives and people management as well as support of workforce related initiatives. In order to be effective in this role, you will have a proven track record of fostering and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with operational leaders, HR networks, Centres of Expertise, and Union representatives. In this role, you will provide HR expertise in a variety of human resource functions with an enhanced focus on identifying when strategic HR approaches may be necessary for supporting clients with their workforce needs. The HR Advisors will support people management by coordinating, advising and if necessary, providing direction using HR and labor relations best practice, particularly in areas of workplace issues such as performance management, accommodation, investigations, and grievances with the identified client group, and external stakeholders such as local union partners. As such, part of this role will be to build and maintain proactive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. This job requires some travel within the area of accountability.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a related post-secondary degree in human resources, business administration or related area. A minimum of 2 years in a human resources role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (healthcare experience an asset). A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated critical thinking skills, with ability to apply a broad lens on issues that impact beyond portfolio; Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive situations with confidentiality, tact, diplomacy, and decisive insight; Effective navigation of politically sensitive environments; Collaboration and communication (written and oral), with ability to produce high quality reports; Resilience and flexibility in a complex, rapidly changing environment; Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others; A strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals; Experience in managing projects of different scope, magnitude and significance; Demonstrated experience in performance management, labour relations, policy interpretation, Human Rights Legislation and investigations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within a unionized environment and/or an organization with multiple legislative requirements. Experience supporting complex grievances and investigations. Group facilitation and conflict resolution skills. CPHR or other recognized designation. Previous experience in a healthcare environment.
