Job Description


International Clinical Laboratories (ICL) is one of the largest independent clinical diagnostic centers on the African continent. ICL opened its door for service in 2004 with the aim of “contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of the quality of life throughout Ethiopia” by encompassing a system of human and physical resources designed to meet the changing healthcare needs of the population it serves.

It is the only laboratory accredited by the USA-based Joint Commission International (JCI) five times in a row. The laboratory provides more than 3000 tests in collaboration with its referral laboratories.

ICL would like to fill the following vacant positions under the HR Department by inviting all qualified and competent applicants:

Job Summary:

Assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties and carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, and employment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruiting and staffing;
  • Performance management and improvement tracking systems;
  • Employee orientation, development, and training and recordkeeping;
  • Assisting with employee relations;
  • Company employee communication;
  • Compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping;
  • Maintaining employee files and the HR filing system (both electronic and hard copy);
  • Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Updates HR spreadsheet (data) with employee change requests and processes.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review forms.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the HR Director.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience

  • BA Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 3 years and above related work experience,
  • Requirements
  • Proven experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position;
  • PC literacy (MS Offices)
  • Hands on experience with an HRIS or HRMS
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communications skills
