Job Description


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under supervision of and accountable to the Sub-Project Office Coordinator the Horticulture/Coffee Agronomist Officer/Expert will be in charge of project activities to be implemented within local communities in Gelana Woreda Project intervention Kebeles and provide the needed technical support.

  • Responsible for implementation of project activities which include interactive training and learning support on Crop Production,
  • Vegetable and fruit production,
  • Coffee management,
  • Nursery and and seeding management,
  • Coffee Processing,
  • Taking action in collaboration with project intervention Woreda Agriculture and Coffee institution
  • Responsible in preparing monthly report for activities undertaken within the Woredas to the PPME Officer,
  • Keep appropriate records of community members who are supported by the project.
  • Work in close collaboration with other staff members within the project.
  • Responsible for preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual reports for the activities undertaken within the project intervention kebeles

Job Requirement

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS: the potential candidate for the post should have Bachelor MSc Degree from recognized Universities/Colleges in Agriculture fields (Crop Husbandry, Horticulture (Incorporating Coffee Agronomy) or other closely related fields. Besides, s/he should have at least 6 years of demonstrable work experience in areas of agriculture including Horticulture at community level. NGO experience is an advantage.

Additional Requirements For all positions:

  • Competency in computer applications of MS Offices packages is required.
  • Fluency in understanding, writing and speaking Amharic and English languages is mandatory. Knowledge in Oromifa language is needed.
  • Cooperative, team player, gender sensitive and excellent in interpersonal relationships.
  • Have a strong commitment and openness to learn and share.
  • Language requirement: speaking and understanding Afan Oromo (Oromifa) is mandatory
