Job Description


Purpose:

Under the supervision of immediate Supervisor, drives trucks, trucks with trailers, observes safety standards and traffic rules strictly; handles vehicles properly according to the Enterprise’s rules and procedures.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Drivers shall carry out pre-use inspections to ensure that the truck is in good working condition and appropriate for the use as per NTE drivers safety policy.
  • Transport goods & tobacco leaves from place to place as instructed.
  • Checks engine oil level, fuel level, cooling water levels, tires, lightening systems, brake system, external and internal body parts, etc. and ascertains that everything is in order prior to operating the vehicle.
  • Ascertains that the truck is functioning properly while driving and reports immediately to the supervisor any malfunctioning, breakdown or accidents; in case of accidents takes measures according to NTE guidelines and procedures.
  • Submits daily reports on kilometers traveled, fuel consumed, travel destinations etc. as per procedures and instructions.
  • Make sure that the truck to be equipped with all safety equipment (Fire extinguisher, First aid kits, warning triangle and others) prior to operating as per NTE driver’s safety policy.
  • Observes strictly traffic rules and regulations; ensures safe driving at all time and adheres to established working practices, procedures and accident prevention techniques.
  • Performs related tasks as required.

Job Requirements

Education: Grade 10 and 5th Grade driving license.

Work experience: 6 years proven work experience in driving.
