Job Summary

provide first aid for minor injuries, monitor work conditions for potential dangers, and suggest job modifications for employees who are ill, or injured and physically examine employees and take medical histories for company files.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety programs;
  • Provide emergency treatment in the workplace;
  • Administer over-the-counter medication to employees;
  • Document all employee injuries and illnesses and keep this information confidential;
  • Improve the health of employees through ongoing programs and health checks;
  • Planning and delivering patients’ care;
  • Monitoring patients’ progress;
  • Giving first aid to employees;
  • Taking samples, pulses, temperatures, and blood pressures;
  • Monitoring and administering medication;
  • Advising patients and relatives on health-related issues;
  • Administering medications and treatments, then monitoring patients for side effects and reactions;
  • Performing wound care, such as cleaning and bandaging them;
  • Operating and monitoring medical equipment.
  • Communicate with management on a regular basis.
  • Evaluate and treat all injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner within the scope of practice and consistent with industrial nursing guidelines.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • A recognized Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (or similar);
  • BA degree in nursing;
  • proven working experience as Health Officer;
  • Minimum 4 years of experience;
  • A postgraduate degree in basic occupational health and safety will be advantageous;
  • Comprehensive Clinical Training in Occupational Health and Nursing;
  • Language proficiency in Oromiffa, Amharic, and English.
