Job Description


World Vision Ethiopia began its first intervention in Ethiopia in 1971 with relief and opened the Ethiopia office in 1975. Relief, rehabilitation and small community development projects dominated the decade that followed. During the 1984/85 drought, World Vision Ethiopia participated in a massive relief operation that saved the lives of millions of people.

Major Responsibility

  • Maintaining and monitoring project plans and prepare activity schedules, work plan and budget
  • Ensure establishment of project Monitoring and supportive supervision system, and design reporting templates, and provide progress report both narrative and financial to WVE
  • Organize and Conduct different capacity building Training either for project and government staffs along with preparation and documentation of best practices
  • Collaborate with the project support team to conduct baseline survey, progress monitoring and end line surveys
  • Conduct ongoing progress monitoring for Quality Improvement across each of targeted response woredas, Identify gaps and collaborate with project team to improve delivery mechanisms.

Requirements

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • Master’s degree in public health or nutrition with clinical health background (degree in Public Health or Clinical Nursing) from accredited universities or health colleges;

Required Professional Experience

  • Minimum five years working experience with NGOs in emergency health and nutrition programs

Preferred Knowledge and Technical Training qualifications required:

  • TOT on IMNCI
  • ToT training in Acute Malnutrition 2019 revised guideline
  • ToT training in revised 2019 IMAM guideline
  • Integrated Pharmaceuticals Logistics System (IPLS)
  • Certificate of training on SPHERE standards:
  • Knowledge on Standard methods and indicators for assessing  health and nutritional status, including rapid assessment , active surveillance, epidemic response  and Nutrition Survey methodology.
  • Understanding of IASC Cluster system, including function of health and Nutrition Cluster
  • Knowledge on Red Cross/Red Crescent Code of Conduct, WV’s disaster management cycle and Sphere standards
  • Knowledge, training and experience in management of ,IMNCI ,MAM and SAM with/without medical complication
  • Demonstrated skills in health and nutrition program planning, implementation and monitoring.
  • Experience in cascading family MUAC approach  Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work under pressure and extra hours, and out of assigned implementation area
  • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions;
  • Excellent training and facilitation skills, and Negotiations skills
  • Strong adherence to World Vision values;
  • Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity and integrity
  • Prepared to live and work in a remote and uncertain security environment
  • Fluent in oral and written in English, Amharic and the local  languages is advantageous
