Professional Alliance for Development (PADet) is an indigenous, not-for-profit; a nongovernmental humanitarian organization established in 1998. It has been serving disadvantaged and marginalized segments of the community especially youth, women children in the areas of Reproductive Health HIV/AIDs Prevention and Care, Child Protection, Women Development, and Livelihood and Food Securities for the last 22 years.

Currently, PADet has a plan to implement Social Accountability Project in Afar Region and need to recruit qualified and competent Nominees in the following job opportunities.

Job summary: 

S/he is responsible for overall gender mainstreaming and social inclusion in the SA project in the intervention woredas.

Main tasks of the GSIE:

  • Lead the project team in gender mainstreaming throughout the SA process
  • Provide technical and coaching to SA project staff
  • Plan own activities in coordination with the PC and M&E officer, including joint monitoring and technical support trips as needed;
  • Participate in a regular reporting, identification and documentation of relevant gender practices;
  • Support the PC to prepare grantee participation in regional and local meetings for gender and social inclusion related advocacy;
  • Participate in and provide input to learning and capacity development events organized by the MA
  • Participate in monitoring visits either planned by MA, government and development partners.

Grade level: VI

Report to:  Project Coordinator

Job Requirements

Education qualification, experience & skill:

  • BA in gender, social inclusion, sociology or related field
  • 3 years’ experience with gender and/or social inclusion; NGO experience is preferable
  •  Potential and willingness to develop strong training and facilitation skills
  •  Strong determination to work on gender and social inclusion.
  • Good networker with other GSIEs
  • Knowledge of local language and working procedure

Personal Competency:

  • Willingness to work in extra working hours and weekends with staffs;
  • Highly motivated, self-managed
  • High level commitment to achieve project goal and Objectives;
  • Able to work with minimum supervision;
  • Ability to prepare and submit quality reports timely;
