Development Expertise Center (DEC) is a National Civil Society Organization (CSO) that aspires to see all marginalized children properly fostered. The organization has four major programs; Child Development, Gender and Life Skill Development; Skills and Entrepreneurship Development and Lobby & advocacy. DEC works in five National Regional States of Amhara, Afar, Gambela, Oromia Benishangul, and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit for the following position Grant Manager

Job Summary

The Grant Manager is responsible for the overall project grant management, financial planning and reporting and continuous management of financial milestones, as well as providing guidance on compliance and monitoring risks. S/he supports the achievement of project goals through, project grant coordination, resource mobilization, establishing an effective working relationship with the donor and government

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the grants management responsibilities of the organization;
  • Identify and track calls for application and new grant opportunities;
  • Lead the process of developing and submitting high-quality and compliant concept notes and proposals.
  • Work closely with the Program, Finance and Administration to coordinate proposal timelines and roles and responsibilities;
  • Maintain good donor communications, requests and amendments to ensure they are communicated effectively and oversee completion of resulting actions; coordinate response to donor queries as needed;
  • Problem-solve related to grant implementation with the country team to instill overall health of grants escalating issues to supervisor as needed;
  • Deliver donor compliance responsibilities for assigned portfolio, including working with the program staff and finance units to monitor award implementation, supporting reporting and procurements to ensure compliance with donor requirements, and providing needed compliance support to country and field offices;
  • Provide support and build capacity of the implementing project officers in identifying and addressing challenges or concerns
  • Provide regular updates on concerning projects under his/her supervision to the program coordinator;

Job Requirements

Qualification and experience

  • MA/MSc/BA/Economics, business, administration finance or accounting preferred advantage
  • Qualified Female applicants Who fulfill the requirement appreciated

Technical and other Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in both local and English languages
  • With strong planning, monitoring, and evaluation, reporting and documentation of lessons learned
  • Strong experience in collaborating and partnersing with the government and other partners
  • Proven operational level experience and leadership in project management
