Job Description


Our company, Abyssinia Trading Plc, is engaged mainly in dry freight transport with other related businesses.

We want to hire a competent and qualified Finance & Tax Manager who meets the below requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company (payroll, invoicing, and other transactions.
  • Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements, accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Find ways to reduce or maintain costs by studying financial reports and business process.
  • Aid management in financial decisions.
  • Maintain up to date financial recording.
  • Ensure timely reporting of taxes to the concerned Authority.
  • Working with Operation and Administration Departments and management team to set budgets, monitor spending, and processing payroll and other expenses.
  • Supervising transport operations documents intact and make sure that they are complete for settlement of advances and legitimate for expense recording.
  • Make sure that advances are provided for staff after settling previous advance.

Job Requirements

Education: A minimum of BA Degree in Accounting and/or Accounting and Finance.

Experience: A minimum of six years in Accounting functions out of which two years in a Finance Manager position

Skills: Practical & detailed knowledge of Peachtree Accounting Software, Good strategic thinking, excellent business judgment and decision making skills, strong leadership skills.

N.B. Knowledge of Accounting and Ethiopian tax laws is mandatory.
