Job Description


Rift Valley Children and Women Development Organization (RCWDO) is a local Nongovernmental Organization established in 1993 G.C. It is currently operating in fourteen woredas of five zones of Oromia Regional State namely: Bale, Arsi, West Arsi, East Shoa and Guji zones implementing integrated rural community development programme in partnership with different international NGOs targeting people living in poverty and marginalization. The organization has signed an agreement with Imagine 1 Day (I1D) with the support from FCDO and UNICEF to implement a project entitled “Access to basic education services for conflict-affected out-of-school children in East Wellaga, West Wellaga and North Shawa Zones of Oromia region.

Currently the organization would like to invite qualified and competent applicants for the following position.

 

Reports to: Finance Coordinator at Head Office, Addis Ababa

 

Purpose: Coordinate financial management of the FCDO Project in Boji Dermeji Woreda of West Wollega Zone

 

Number of Positions: 1 (one)

 

Job Overview: 

Under the Supervision of senior finance officer the duties & responsibilities of finance officer shall be as follows.

 

Duties and responsibilities; 

  • Primary responsible for the checking and reviewing of cash payments of the field office.
  • Support the preparation of the withholding and other taxes payments, reports and reconciling of the unsettled tax items
  • Prepare the cash requests and verify all the supporting documentation (invoices & receipts) for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensures all supporting documents are provided properly validated according to the signature regulation
  • Preparation of payments run for review and approval to the lead
  • Implement the appropriate internal control system to avoid misappropriation of funds and property.
  • Responsible in preparing and reviewing all the supporting documents for the finance transactions to ensure full compliance with internal audit and company requirements,
  • Perform additional related assignments as may be requested by the line manager

About You

Qualifications, skills & experience required:

  • Minimum BA Degree in Accounting or Accounting and Finance or other related field of study.
  • With 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in the areas of financial management
  • NGO experience is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Accounting software such Peachtree accounting software
  • Excellent communication skills in the Afaan Oromo
