Job Description


The Finance & Accounting Manager is responsible for setting up the company’s finance and accounting policies and procedures and for the management of the company’s finance and accounting activities.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In collaboration with the other Management staffs regularly update policies and procedures for the companies finance, & accounting functions; ensure that employees across strictly follow policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with management to plan, organize and deliver & accurate results and to ensure availability of financial resources for the organization’s operations
  • Ensure that timely and accurate financial information is provided for decision making;
  • Advice management and SBUs on financial & accounting matters
  • Participate in the preparation of corporate plans;
  • Ensure that companies financial recording and reporting are up to standard and ensures timely payment of government obligations (VAT, withholding, income tax, pension contribution etc) .
  • Ensure that well organized documentation of financial transactions are maintained; resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Ensures that payments are all effected as per to the company’s financial policies & guidelines and payment authorization limits.
  • Compile quarterly and yearly financial reports and statements and , make financial analysis and submit synthesized reports for management
  • Supervise the work of immediate subordinates; evaluates and manages subordinates’ performance

Work with external auditors

Any other duties as and when required by immediate supervisor that are reasonably within the capabilities of the incumbent and are aimed at achieving the company’s objectives and goals

  • Proper planning & execution of finance & accounting activities across the group
    Improvement initiatives for finance & accounting function
  • Financial Management Performance of targets:
  • Policies & procedures in place
  • SBU & staff compliance with finance & accounting policies & procedures
  • Financial planning: availability of fund when needed
  • Proper & timely financial recording & reporting
  • Availability & effectiveness of Internal control system
  • Bank statements reconciled
  • Books of Accounts are in balance
  • Accounting for fixed assets
  • Timely & proper conduct of performance planning & reviews for subordinates
  • Training/development for finance & accounting team
  • Staff motivation & discipline within the finance & accounting team and company level
  • Timely submission of periodic reports
