Job Description


The Position

  • Finance Manageris responsible oversee the financial operations of an organization.Prepare business activity reports, financial statements, and forecasts. Make sure financial legal requirements are met.
  • The Finance Manager works closely with the Deputy Head of School, the Head of HR and Administration and other work unites. The Finance Managersupervises the Finance and Budget officer, the Senior Accountant &the Finance Specialist and others under the finance department.

Other

  • Assist and support the Deputy Head of School
  • Perform other related tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Deputy Head of School
  • Co-sign checks and other financial documents on behalf of the school upon the appointment of the BOG
  • Compile and submit data that are necessary for decision making to the Deputy Head of the School
  • Prepare annual reports, budget and work programs, submit same to the Deputy Head of the School
  • Ensures the recruitment of capable and highly qualified persons to hold positions that are reporting to her/him
  • Execute any other related duties as assigned by the Deputy Head of the School and/or the Head of School

Job Requirement

QUALIFICATION

  • A minimum of Bachelor’sor Master’s degree in Accounting, Financial Management or related field
  • Business or a professional accounting qualification such as MICPA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA is advantageous

Experience

  • At least 10 years’ experience in an international setting. Out of which 5 years as a Managerial role
  • Proven track record in leading change and improvement initiatives
  • Experience in staff supervision and evaluation, with demonstrable knowledge of supervision and administration.
  • Experience in an international (multi-cultural) school environment is a PLUS.
  • Solid experience in budget development, research and planning accounting, payroll, cash management, inventory
  • control, finance reporting, purchasing, manage internationaland local contract agreements, project management,
  • property and insurance management, development and implementation of capital facility planning and construction.
  • Experience in computerized accounting systems, spreadsheets databases, word processing and emerging technology
  •  and information services.
  • Experience in financial statements preparation, reporting and ensuring sound audit procedures.
  • Experience in a school context is desirable

SKILLS

  • Demonstrated managerial skill including participatory planning decision making and problem solving; organization; delegation; evaluation; and team building
  • Fluent in both spoken and written Communication is mandatory
  • High ethical standards and enthusiasm for SIS’s strategic vision and future
