Job Description


REPORTS TO: Public health Director

LOCATION: Addis ababa, Asco

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent

Description

  • Manage overall cash flow, including monitoring balances, preparing forecasts, and ensuring timely transfers.
  • Oversee payments and collections, ensuring proper authorization, documentation, and compliance with financial policies.
  • Handle payroll, taxes, pensions, provident funds, and other statutory obligations in line with government regulations.
  • Prepare and review disbursements, journal entries, expenditure reports, and support month/year-end closings.
  • Supervise accounting staff, ensure proper filing of financial records, and provide training and performance management.
  • Conduct internal audits and financial spot checks on implementing partners, ensuring compliance with grant agreements and reporting schedules.
  • Coordinate with procurement and tax authorities on purchase declarations, reporting, and payment processing.
  • Manage petty cash systems, office supplies, vehicles, and equipment, ensuring proper use and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Perform other finance and administrative duties as assigned, upholding labor laws and organizational values.
About You

Qualifications

  • 3 years of relevant experience with the first degree
  • 2 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree
  • Similar experience in Private or Government Hospital is preferable
  • NGO experience is a plus
  • Supervisory skill is mandatory for supervisory positions

  • Technical and report writing skills
  • Computer literate
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill
  • Peachtree accounting software skill
