KAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU vehicle in Ethiopia. It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Field Engineer position.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible to troubleshoot and providing field maintenance, and upkeep of customer vehicles depending on a detail work order of the Service advisor to solve customer concerns and problems.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide field maintenance service by visiting the work sites of customers or while vehicles are on the road.
• Troubleshoot vehicle issues while travelling, detect any malfunctions or damages, and repair the same.
• Interact with customers and understanding the issues pertaining to their vehicles.
• Attend to telephonic calls of customers and addressing their queries and grievances.
• Recommend change of parts and other necessary services for the vehicle.
• Quickly and accurately diagnose customer vehicle issues, and determine what is needed to get the vehicle working again.
• Estimate vehicle repair requirements and prepare necessary data to provide an accurate repair quote to the customer.
• Estimate the time, cost of repairs of vehicles, and present it to the Sales Advisor for processing customer payments as per company finance policy and procedures.
• Place orders for necessary spare parts and ensure its timely procurement.
• Maintain the proper parts, supplies, and tools in the service vehicle to solve customer problems at all times.
• Teach customers how to use the vehicles and decrease future vehicle issues.
• Schedule and arrange all customer service call, planned maintenance, and breakdowns to maintain effective customer service.
• Maintain records of all service activities based on customers’ repair order logs, service agreements, completed repair orders, timesheets, machine checklists, receiving records, expense reports, and service agreements.
• Ensure proper communication with customers concerning vehicle’s preventative maintenance schedule, and future service needs.
• Responsible for proper and safe use of tools and equipment at all times.
• Liaise with Sales Advisor to address customer applications for part replacements.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health procedures.
• Consistently present a professional image, both in personal appearance and condition of company service equipment.
