Job Description


Faith based and development program officer primary role is to support the HWOT team and the faith based program implementation. The Officer provides initial trainings and ongoing support of HWOT staff. Responsible for strategic planning and coordinator works together with the Program Manager and the HWOT Team by networking and building relationships with the community and faith based organizations. Responsible for staff care and nurture to ensure the wellbeing of the staff working in conflict environment

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule and lead meetings with Community and faith based leaders explaining the vision and commitment of HWOT project.
  • Meet with interested faith based organization leaders to share about HWOT program and discuss opportunities for a faith based organization to get involved in HWOT.
  • Lead initial trainings for Tigray Teams, liaison between the HWOT Program and faith based organizations
  • Connect families who suffered trauma with faith based organizations based on location, cultural interests and needs of individuals and families
  • Notify teams of upcoming appointments for counseling’s and maintain communication with the case manager and team.
  • Work with Faith and Development Program Manager in developing and fostering relationships with other community organizations and HWOT workers who work on HWOT in Tigray.
  • Work with the Faith & Development Program Manager and the HWOT connections to identify potential connections between HWOT team and families, according to the family’s expressed needs and location, and the team’s
  • Liaises with local and international organizations/institutions for research, development and for HWOT curriculum enrichment purposes.
  • Provides technical support on workshops, conferences and training initiatives and interprets or relays policy directives on HWOT curriculum to staff to guide their work.
  • Be fully engaged and enlist the support of all staff, whether paid or volunteer, for the HWOT program implementation.
  • Preparing presentations by researching and writing about how to present lessons to the staff to meet their spiritual needs.

Position Requirements,

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field.
  • Experience in faith based program leadership and counseling skills .
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in relevant fields, preferably within INGOs sector.
  • High level of fluency in English, Amharic and Tigrigna (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and email ap
