Job Summary
Abt Associates seeks an Environmental Compliance Field Assistant to support implementation and evaluation of PMI-funded IRS activities. Under the supervision of the Country Environmental Compliance Officer, she/he will be responsible for activities detailed below.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
- Ensure safe working procedure during larval source management
- Ensure appropriate and timely disposal/recycle of solid waste generated during IRS activities
- Lead routine environmental assessments and store preparation and support the routine environmental monitoring.
- Supervise and perform routine inspection of IRS activity implementation, safe storage, use, and disposal of larvicides
- Participate in the training of community vector control technicians
- Provide technical assistance to IRS implementation teams and counterparts
- Ensure the timely preparation of IRS reports
- Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of direction and supervision
- Performs additional tasks as deemed necessary
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental health, or another relevant field.
- 4-6 years of professional experience in coordination and supervision of IRS operation
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation
- Good communication skills
- Excellent computer and organizational skills
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree + Five years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Three years of relevant experience, or PhD
