Job Description

Major purpose:

Perform EHS functions pertaining to Development and implementation of safe working atmosphere to avoid any injury/occupational illness, Environment management system with fulfilling legal requirements.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

  • To monitor ETP operation, ETP lab analysis, Hazardous waste management related operations in line with legal requirements.
  • To coordinate with local Forest Protection & Climate Change Authority / Incineration sites for hazardous waste disposal as per norms.
  • To maintain all legal documents and updating data onEthiopian Environment, Forest Protection & Climate Change Authority& legal tasks.
  • Prepare compliance reply, coordinate for legal visits of Ethiopian Environment, Forest Protection & Climate Change Authority, & for require supporting.
  • Implementation and coordinate with related agenesis for smooth functioning & audits.
  • Monitoring of environmental pollutants through third party as per CC & A conditions.
  • Procurement of require chemicals, spares, PPE’s. As per requirements.
  • Prepare EHS budgets & Planning of EHS activities.
  • To ensure overall compliance of statutory norms and regulations as per the local industrial pollution regulation proclamation No. 159/2008 and the relevant guidelines..
  • To conduct various safety inspection and audits at prominent places.
  • To prepare, review, implement standard operating procedures of EHS department.
  • To coordinate for fighting system & emergency firefighting equipment’s.
  • To coordinate with competent person for testing and examination as per the factory act.
  • To prepare weekly &monthly Environment control data, Safety committee meeting & training modules.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Type of Employment: Permanent.

Salary and Other Benefit Packages: Attractive and can be determined with negotiation based on the candidate’s previous earning, qualification and competency.

Job Requirements

Educations: BSc Degree in Environmental and occupational health & safety Science Or in related fields

Experience: 4 years and manufacturing industry experience is preferable.
