Job Description


Purpose:

EHS Specialist is responsible to implement Local & Global EHS Programs in the Market organization.

He/She will be responsible to implement, support and follow up EHS operational controls on company’s premises with given legal limits.

He/She will continuously check daily and planned activities at the areas of responsibility. He//She will work and monitor closely with employees to increase Safety awareness on the defined jobs.

He/She supports for reporting EHS KPIs, defined reports.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

Compliance & Ensure Risk Controls

  • Know NTE EHS requirements, understand EHS aspects of the works, identify the hazards, assess the risks and ensure that control measures are implemented in order to maintain a healthy and safe workplace for the employees work in that specific task or process.

Reporting & NTE Requirements

  • Responsible for global monthly and quarterly reports preparation accurately and on time. Fulfilling all legal reporting requirements by coordinating relevant departments. Follow up deadlines of legal permissions’ and make necessary preparations for renewal applications enough before permissions expired.

 Training and development

  • Support to promoting a positive safety culture, actively demonstrating commitment to EHS. Develop & conduct safety and environmental training programs for the employees/contractor/trainees including safety orientation trainings

Performance Follow up & Coordination

  • Responsible for managing “Safety RoadMap” at the areas he/she belongs to working. And closely follows corrective actions & preventive actions, coordinates contractors to work in Safe conditions.
  • Risk Assessment – Understand health and safety aspects of their work and learn about potential hazards, know and maintain required control measures in order to keep their workplace healthy and safe.
  • Training & Competency – Develop their competency to do the work healthy and safely, participate in health and safety training and receive appropriate health and safety knowledge and required qualifications, observe and follow safety signs, posters, warning signals, and written directions and instructions.
  • Legal & JTI Requirements – Know Legal and JTI health and safety requirements associated with the work hazards and comply with all applicable health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Leadership & Continuous Improvement – Always demonstrate safe behavior, report incidents and near misses to their supervisor, report identified unsafe conditions and behaviors to their supervisor and eliminate them within their authority and ability to do so.

Others:

  • Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager’s request

Job Requirements

Education:

  • BSc Degree in Occupational health and safety, Environmental health science, environmental Engineering or Health and safety related field.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in occupational safety and similar jobs

Knowledge:

  • Intermediate English (Oral and written), MS Office- confident user, Knowledge of ESIA, JSA, Incident Investigation, ISO9001, ISO 4500, ISO14001 and ISO 5001.
