Job Description


The Opportunity

 

This position is responsible for assessment, response analysis, design and implementation of the education components of multisector project emergency response. S/he will need to co-ordinate with other Emergency Response team members and Plan staff, especially Implementation Management, protection and other relevant technical sectors, to ensure a rapid, proportionate and effective response. S/he will need to ensure response to immediate child education issues with simultaneous consideration of longer term needs and possible scenarios. The officer may be expected to take a very active role in technical co-ordination, support and advocacy with the country specific education Clusters and other stakeholders and technical agencies relevant to the sector.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understand and put into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC).
  • Ensure that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
  • Ensure that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.

 

About You

The Individual

  • Education: Degree level or equivalent in Education, Educational administration, Psychology, Pedagogy, and related field of education
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in INGO environment, involving in the requirement of both emergency and development program

Languages required:

  • Fluency in English language is essential
  • In addition to Amharic other local Knowledge of Local Languages (Afan Oromo) is mandatory.
