Job Description


The Save the Children Fund, commonly known as Save the Children, was established in the United Kingdom in 1919 to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts. After passing a century, which it celebrated in 2019, it is now a global movement made up of 29 national member organizations which work in 120 countries.

Role Purpose:

The purpose of having a Education Cluster Information Management Intern is to support the information management work of the Education Cluster. The intern will closely with the National Education Cluster Co- Coordinator, hosted by Save the Children, as well as the National Cluster Co-Coordinator, and National Information Management Specialist, both hosted by UNICEF. The National Education Cluster unit is made up of two co-coordinators and one Information Management Specialist.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Education Cluster coordinator with information management and administrative tasks
  • Assist the National Information Management Specialist with all IM tasks as part of the Cluster’s function, including:
    • Managing contact database of partners
    • Monitoring progress of the annual Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP)
    • Support the National IMS in preparing the calculations of people in need, and target for the annual HRP
    • Ensuring timely collection of key data from regional level IMs
    • Supporting Education Cluster members with use of Activity Info platform, databased of humanitarian interventions in Education
    • Cleaning data partners submit to activity info
    • Preparing dashboards/visualization of the data, if possible or support the National IMS in doing so
    • Support the cluster in preparing infographics and other communication materials to summarize the education responses

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree, in a subject area relevant to information analysis and management (Computer science, Statistics, or any other related disciplines)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of Power BI desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interest in developing a career in project management
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and integrity
