Job Description


Job Summary

The position holder will be responsible for strategic direction designing of the sectors program. H/she will be responsible in projects proposal preparation ,facilitating strategic planning preparation, detail activity and budget preparation and compiling the sectors period reports to the donors and local government in collaboration with each sector coordinator. He/she liaises with ECC-SDCOH a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning coordinator for the projects monitoring and evaluation activities. The Manager is expected to provide support to ECC-SDCO Hawassa Director in the overall management of the office. In addition, the position holder represents ECC-SDCOH a Director in his absence. The Manager directly communicates the funding donors by copying to ECC-SDCOH a Director. He/she is also expected to ensure that the values, of the Catholic Church are respected in all situations at the work place.

Proposal preparation

  • Coordinate projects/program proposals preparation with senior sector coordinators
  • Finalize technical writing of the proposals and submit to ECC-SDCOHa Director
  • Coordinate different sectors donor and local government reports preparation in collaboration with MEAL coordinator
  • Liaise with HR and Logistic officers for the routine management of the office

Planning

  • Coordinatesector budget detail plan preparation with MEAL coordinator
  • Perform any other duties given by your immediate supervisor

IMPLEMENTATION

  • Coordinate the preparation of Detail Implementation plan(DIP) of the projects/programs
  • Deliver required project outputs with expected work quality

Reporting

  • Prepare and update sectors DIP progress on monthly basis
  • Prepare & submit periodic projects/ programs donor reports (physical &Financial)

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • Coordinate annual detail budget plan preparation in consultation with finance head
  • Get monthly based budged expenditure status from finance Head& update your immediate supervisor
  • Liaise with bothsectors budget owners/project coordinators to prepare periodic donor financial reports

Job Requirement

Education background  : MA in Economics, Management, project planning, Business management or any other fields.

Work Experience: At least 8 years’ experience in working with NGOs in the area of proposal preparation, planning, monitoring &report writing with at least 4 years at senior position

Expected skills:

  • Data collection, recording, analyzing and reporting
  • Project proposal preparation and Report writing
  • Problem-solving &Communication skills
  • Basic computer skill(word, excel, power point)

Language

  • Demonstrated oral and written English language
  • Having Sidama, is an asset and Afan Oromo is mandatory.

Salary &Benefits Grade: XVII Basic Salary: 30,075Birr (Thirty thousand, & seventy-five)& other benefits will be as per ECC-SDCO Hawassa staff manual
