Sodo-Buee Child and Family Development Charitable Organization (SBCFDCO) is an indigenous, non-governmental, non-profit, secular, legally registered Ethiopian resident charity organization working in partnership with ChildFund Ethiopia and dedicated to bring long lasting and sustained changes in the lives of disadvantaged children and youths through enhanced role of parents, youth and Children in three core programmatic areas, namely: Early Childhood Development (ECD), Basic Education and Youth Development. In addition, currently, the organization has implemented a five years food security project in four woredas of Misrake Gurage Zone. SBCFDCO is currently looking for well technically qualified, experienced and committed “Driver/Driver purchaser” to safely drive, maintain, and manage the vehicle for the SBCFDCO- Sponsorship project.

SPECIFIC ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Driving SBCFDCO vehicle as may be assigned: transport of authorized clients, visitors, goods, mail, etc. to/from project kebles, Addis Abeba, project woreda, etc
• Provide transport service for organization director and other organization staffs
• Take care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned means of transport, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean.
• Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.
• Read and understand specific vehicle operating manual to ensure the safe and appropriate operations of the vehicle.
• Obey traffic rules and road signs.
• Ensure that the steps required by organization rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
• Identify any apparent problems during field deliveries and report them to the appropriate personnel/general service officer
• Execute other duties and responsibilities assigned by the organization etc

Reports to: HR and logistic officer

Term of employment: – Contact for six months with possibility of renewal based on performance and reference check

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Grade Grade 10/12 and above , technical skill in vehicle management and other relevant field
• Knowledge and skill of Auto Mechanics is highly advantageous.
• Minimum of five years and above in safe driving experience
• Experience in organization material purchasing is highly advantageous
• Language: good communication skill ( in Amharic and knowledge of the local language is a plus)
• Strong interpersonal communication and technical skills in Vehicle management
• Recommendation letter from previous work regarding his/her good driving records and personal discipline is mandatory
