Overview

The Humanitarian and Development (H&D) team is looking for a Director-Market Implementation, Ethiopia to drive Community Pass solution deployment, adoption(usage) and scale in Ethiopia. The ideal candidate is passionate about market solution deployment, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.

Community Pass is a social impact business at Mastercard that enables delivery of critical services to underserved, remote, and frequently offline communities. The Community Pass digital platform leverages a functional identity, a shared wallet, a digital acceptance device, and a safe and secure data platform to enable digital life transactions. Through Community Pass, service providers can more effectively reach underserved populations to provide education, humanitarian aid, micro-commerce, and healthcare services, and enable smallholder farmers with access to agricultural markets and financial services. By so doing, we go well beyond Mastercard’s traditional payments remit, and critically, increase our reach to the 1+ billion previously unserved consumers at the Base of Pyramid (BOP).

Role

The essential responsibilities of the position entails the following:-

  • Drive incountry Business Development and Customer Account Management to ensure continued scale of Community Pass business in Ethiopia.
  • Closely collaborate with our customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to successfully deploy our Community Pass solutions, drive adoption and usage, and continually refine and evolve how we deliver solutions in markets.
  • Own customer capacity building initiatives and solution knowledge transfer in collaboration with Product Managers from Mastercard, customer and partners. The training will include among others product trainings, technology adoption and change management.
  • Prioritize driving solution adoption (number of users) and usage (number of active users) by our customers and partners through leading complex technology implementation initiatives, incentive programs, training and support.
  • Own and advance project management of all Community Pass solution deployments in market and report regularly into global team.
  • Prepare and present on a regular basis, Market deployment reports to Mastercard senior executives, highlighting key updates, strategic milestones, risks and mitigation measures.
  • Provide market insights and Voice of Customer feedback back into the global Product team to ensure that strategy and new product development are aligned with local objectives.

All About You

The ideal candidate for this position should have: –

  • Extensive experience in scaling digital products in Healthcare, Agriculture and MSMEs in rural based population and communities in Africa.
  • Extensive track record in building customer relationships in Ethiopia sectors of Healthcare, Agriculture, MSME and Finance.
  • Extensive track record in designing and conducting Capacity building programs for adults and the illiterate population in Ethiopia.
  • Demonstrated success in complex project management initiatives working with a cross section of stakeholders namely Govt, NGOs, Private sectors and start ups
  • Demostrated success in making Executive level project reports and presentations including excellent skills on powerpoint, word and excel based presentations
