Job Description


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and control the transport operations/fleet management and oversee the transport journey scheduling and operation activity
  • Monitor the general operations of the transportation unit to make sure that operations are within the guidelines, safety measures, government orders, and administrative policies.
  • Monitor and report driver issues such as accidents, safety concerns, or licensing issues.
  • Review and arrange all transportation paperwork inclusive of logs, trip reports and invoices.
  • Negotiate contracts with outside transportation companies, handle complaints, and investigate delivery issues.
  • Conduct analysis of costs of transportation including fuel usage and maintenance.
  • Manage all aspects of the Commission properties and assets including maintaining of updated records, inspection of assets for damages or maintenance requirements and coordinates the maintenance and repair of assets including vehicle maintenance.
  • Drive the disposition of materials per the approved plan, to accelerate the write-off and disposal activities and increase the throughput of the disposal process, enhance the quality and accuracy of data, and enable transparent reporting.
  • Confirm contracts, insurance requirements, and government regulations and safety standards are followed properly.
  • Manage the administrative services such as reception, janitorial, transport, maintenance and security services
  • Research and provide the options for outsourcing the administrative services as needed.
  • Ensure that the administrative function of all events, conference and meetings of the Commission run smoothly.
  • Set up a well-functioning and professional reception for the Commission.
  • Manage the office spacing in the Commission premises including renovations and refurbishments.
  • Complete a monthly cleaning audit with the cleaning contractors and to produce a plan of agreed actions.

REPORT TO : Director, Finance and Admin

SALARY RANGE :    Monthly salary of ETB 25,756.00- ETB 30,676.00 plus ETB 8,000.00 housing allowance and ETB 1,900 transport allowance depending on candidates qualification, experience and earning history

LOCATION :  Head Office

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • MA/BA Degree in Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or related fields.
  • 8 years of relevant experience for BA or 6 years of relevant experience for MA
  • Experience and knowledge of IFMIS, IFRIS is required
  • Experience working with various donors is a plus.
  • Experience in management of resources Computer literate. 
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Fluency in Amharic and English is required and knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.
