Job Description


World Vision Ethiopia began its first intervention in Ethiopia in 1971 with relief and opened the Ethiopia office in 1975. Relief, rehabilitation and small community development projects dominated the decade that followed. During the 1984/85 drought, World Vision Ethiopia participated in a massive relief operation that saved the lives of millions of people.

Summary

The Accountability and Compliance Officer will be responsible for managing complaints and feedback from program staff and beneficiaries in the field, ensuring the integrity of information received. This role involves managing the CFRM, documenting and aggregating data, and providing detailed summaries of complaint issues to feedback the program team during team meetings/ and monthly reports. In addition, he/she is responsible for overseeing an organization’s compliance with government laws and regulations. Their duties include coordinating with company management to identify potential risks, implementing policies and procedures to uphold laws and regulations and monitoring the company’s adherence to those policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Sensitize community members on the available complaint mechanisms and how to use them and ensure the information provision provided efficiently and accessibly
  • Ensure availability of proper and functional CFRM and filing system for all the complaints and feedback received through the CFRM.(e.g., hotlines, suggestion boxes, individual interviews).
  • Follow up on complaints and feedback internal referrals with appropriate field base and sectors and respond to raised pending issues and aggregating CFRM data from the field reports.
  • Handle entry, upload, and export of data, using designated software, organize paper and electronic records for routine reporting in timely manner.
  • Constantly report to management concerning the organization’s compliance with laws and regulations.
  • prepare monthly and quarterly reports based on validated data and support on-going monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of projects.

Requirements

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

  • A bachelor’s degree / A Master’s degree in sociology, social work, project management or developmental studies
  • 2-year experience working in a related position in particular Humanitarian experience
  • Formal training in Accountability, Monitoring and Evaluation, Data Management, Kobo, Core Humanitarian Standard, Data Quality Assurance (DQA) is an asset.
  • Skills and experience conducting data verification, analysis, reporting, and monitoring.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Formal training in food programming and related systems strongly preferred.
  • Ability to effectively develop rapport and relate to donors, NGOs, counterparts, and government agencies.
  • Must have excellent presentation skills.
  • A commitment to capacity building and people development, essential.
  • A balance of relief and development experience is highly valued.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. French is an advantage
