Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the project implementing partner NGOs in project activity planning, formulation of implementation strategies and have these carried out and followed up in the field.
  • Work closely with local partners (woreda partners, kebele administration, community representatives) in identification and selection of humanitarian/emergency aid beneficiaries.
  • Execute emergency interventions in the target kebeles and for the selected beneficiaries in a programmed and timely manner.
  • Carry out participatory field work sessions (field meetings) in order to establish and develop community level ownership for the emergency activities.
  • Prepare activity reports and provide daily progress and situation updates.
  • In collaboration with the project team, carry out all duty assignments related to the emergency project.
  • Directly work under the direction and guidance of the Humanitarian Officer.
  • Carry out other activities assigned by the Humanitarian Officer

Qualifications:

  • BSc Degree or College Diploma in Emergency Management, Humanitarian Affairs, Agriculture Extension, Rural Development or a related field.
  • Experience in emergency management or humanitarian response, extension, community work.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures and protocols is of an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the regional language, Afan Oromo, is mandatory.
