Job Description


DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs; Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.  DEC would like to recruit for the following position: Cluster Manager.

Job Summary;

 

The Cluster Manager Coordinates the implementation of integrated Youth Activity and provides programmatic and administrative support to the implementation. She/He will be responsible for working with young people, partners, and stakeholders. Under the direct supervision of the program coordinator He/She is responsible for facilitating the process and implementation of youth-led advocacy, meaningful youth engagement in youth mobilization, and social behavioral change in the Integrated Youth Activity IYA project.

 

Roles and responsibilities of 

 

  • Plans and Coordinates one or more projects of the organization, including fundraising, budgeting, work planning, and community outreach.
  • Coordinate and guide the development and implementation of plans for monitoring meaningful youth engagement at different partners and stakeholder organizations;
  • Ability to work with communities, government stakeholders, and other partners.
  • Identify youth-friendly service setups, working conditions, and responsible groups and organize experience-sharing workshops, technical support, agreements, supervision, networking and facilitate the learning process;
  • Ensure timely update the supervisor on progress Reports about the project
  • Ensure close consultation of the consortium and good communication with all concerned bodies
  • Accountable for coordinating and providing necessary technical support to all project activities of the organization related to the project he/she leads.
  • Provide technical support and participate in needs assessment, supervision, M&E, and performance reporting
  • Update, enrich, and upload current and dynamic information and data related to the project.
  • Support the identification and assistance of capacity-building needs of both governmental and national CSOs on youth-led advocacy and meaningful youth engagement and participation.
  • Perform additional activities given by immediate supervisors and other management teams.

About You

Academic Qualification & Experience

 

  • MSc/MA in Social Work sociology and other related fields, at least 3 years direct CSO/Local NGO  work experience.

Sex

  • Female and male, Female applicants encouraged

 

Additional Skill

 

  • Fluent in English languages, Writing, and speaking skills in additional local languages are a plus.
  • Good communication skills in teamwork team mobilizations and partnership management;
  • Experience in facilitating assessments, best practice capturing, and working with communities
  • Ability to conduct training and track progress;
  • Innovative, enthusiastic, and a strong team player
  • Good report writing, use of technology application skills
