Job Description


Job Summary

Chief, Technology & Digital Banking Officer, reporting to the CEO, provides the vision and leadership for designing, developing and implementing technology and digital initiatives that create customer and/or business value. Responsibilities include influencing and directing Nib’s technology and digital infrastructure and applications evolution to ensure key business strategies and processes are deriven by systems that enable change and growth in line with the corporate strategy.

Key Performance Areas and Activities:

  • Align technology and digital strategy to enable Nib’s corporate
  • Evaluate customer requirements, prepare and present proposals, design and deliver solutions to meet customer
  • Develop technology and digital policies and procedures to enable consistency and good
  • Protect the Bank and its operations against technology and digital risks, including unauthorized access to information, data integrity problems, loss of processing capability, and poor service levels.
  • Prepare periodic reports to the Board and other relevant forums.
  • Propose and obtain strategic approval for technology and digital projects to enable corporate strategy implementation.
  • Optimize the return on the Bank’s technology and digital investment by acquiring cost- justified technology and digital components, as measured by performance, support availability, price, upgradeability, and future industry trends.
  • Drive digital innovation and serve as a change agent throughout the organization.
  • Ensure collaboration, knowledge sharing and digital best practices among partners and colleagues to help establish a robust digital ecosystem.
  • Measure ROI for digital projects, fine-tuning approaches as needed to ensure that the Bank’s we’re investing in the appropriate tools and resources.
  • Develop a clear and compelling digital strategy for the Bank’s future.
  • Ensure that digital initiatives are fully integrated with the strategic-planning process, including leadership commitment and resource allocation.
  • Own and monitor the digital-innovation project portfolio.
  • Identify new tools (AI, digital, CRM) that can support and enhance the Bank’s solutions.
  • Ensure collaboration amongst the staff with other Departments and relevant stakeholders for the purpose of cultivating collective responsibility to achieve the Bank’s objectives.

  • Strategic planning.
  • Banking technology used for customer facing and internal ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of CRM data and database systems; understanding of data security and other compliance responsibilities.
  • Experience of commissioning services from third parties and managing contracts, contract negotiation and customer/vendor relationships.
  • Proven track record at senior level of leading staff within technology and digital

  • Developing, implementing and managing strategies and plans aligned to key business objectives.
  • Ability to develop, present and defend complex and diversified technology issues, reports, and statistics, orally and in writing.

Job Requirement

Minimum Qualification:

  • Msc/BSc. Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information System,  Software Engineering or any other equivalent field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional ICT qualifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CCNS or other equivalent and recognized qualifications

Required Work Experience:

  • At least 13/15 years of relevant IT experience of which 6/8 years at Department Director or equivalent.
