Job Description


World Vision Ethiopia began its first intervention in Ethiopia in 1971 with relief and opened the Ethiopia office in 1975. Relief, rehabilitation and small community development projects dominated the decade that followed. During the 1984/85 drought, World Vision Ethiopia participated in a massive relief operation that saved the lives of millions of people.

Responsibilities

  • Assist NPH Accountant and Finance and Admin Assistant in the preparation of Bank Payment Vouchers and checks, and effect cash payment for the approved Financial Documents, fuel coupons and   receiving & issuing  material from store.
  • Distribute/pay checks against collection of receipts and/or signature of recipients so as to handle cash collection and timely deposit in bank and assist the accountant by cancelling payment document, i.e. putting paid stamps on used receipts, invoices and rechecks the completeness of financial documents, ,approval signatures and attached financial documents.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of physical count with bin card regularly and report the results to the AP accountant or delegated accountant regularly.
  • Ensures safely deposit of financial assets, handles the material supplies according to the material management and finance guidelines of WVE
  • Handle all bank matters, payment voucher,   Good receiving note, good issue ticket, cash receipt, receive & issue coupon voucher
  • Liaise with the training and payment unit and maintain updated training and different payment with calendar or activity based and Ensure payments are processed timely. Besides, inform finance officers and Project Accountants and Project coordinators on pending payments.
  • Facilitate training payments, loading/unloading payment, tertiary transport, per diem, casual staff salary by traveling to various Weredas and prepare reports for the same.
  • Work in collaboration with NPH Cashier/Accountant and Finance and Admin Assistant.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax reports and settle monthly withholding and income tax payments.
  • Undertakes other related works ordered by immediate supervisor

Requirements

Educational requirements:  Bachelor degree in Management or Accounting/ Diploma in Management or Accounting

Experience/Background:

  • The incumbent must have bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting or related field with two years of related experience. OR
  • Diploma in Management or Accounting or related field with four years of related experience NGO experience is advantageous.
  • Good computer skill in MS Offices and operating office equipment (Scanning, Photocopy …)
  • Fluent in oral and written English and Tigrigna languages.

Special criteria:  Travel and/or work environment requirement

Work environment: Based in Edagaarbi

Travel:  Frequent domestic travel within the targeted woredas of the Central Zone
