Job Summary

Vita is implementing a new Green Impact Fund Program for creating safe and clean water access, alternative cooking energy and forestry through community led approach. The high-caliber candidate selected for this position will provide tailored MRV system for Green Impact Fund Program with expected time line, quality and standard

Major Duties & Responsibilities

•  To coordinate and identify all possible data and information related to accreditation compliance
• Provide capacity building training, cauching and assisting technical staff engaged on carbon credit projects
• Develop standard quarterly reports extracted from applicable database for climate mitigation actions
• Provide all required support document for Credit registration, verification and issuance
• Lead monthly, quarterly reporting and annual verification survey as per agreed quality, procedure and standards
• Keep all records for internal and external consumption like designated operational entity (DOE).
• Collect global carbon credit market information to determine current carbon price per ton and cost of carbon offsets

Desirable:

•  Understanding the Ethiopian National Determined Contribution and Global Frameworks on carbon market and climate
  finance

Job Requirement

Education Requirements

•  BA/BSC or MSc Degree from the recognized college/ University in Economics, Statistics, Natural Resources Management or
  related field of studies

Work Experience

•  understanding of Carbon Project implementation, accreditation and verification
  • Experience working in CDM and Voluntary Carbon Market
  • Experience working in Gold Standard Methodologies for Improved biomass Cooks Stove, clean water access and forestry
  • Field experiences on demonstrating Gold Standard methods for calculating Emission
  • Demonstrated experience on data collection, verifying and generating primary quantitative report
  • Experience/knowledge on KOBO based data collection and management
  • Minimum 5-7 years NGO working experience is preferable

Required Skill and competencies

•  Strong interpersonal skill
• Excellent Qualitative and quantitative data analytical skill
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Amharic, English Languages and report writing skill
• Strong knowledge of data collection, analysis and interpretation
• Proficiency in computer software application

Terms of Employment: One-year contract and renewable based on the performance
