Job Description


National Tobacco Enterprise Ethiopia S.C., a member of Japan Tobacco International/JTI/, is looking for a competent candidate for Car Fleet Supervisor. The Car Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company fleet of vehicles. He/she ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained, safe to drive, and in good working order.

Responsibilities

The ideal incumbent is going to perform the following key activities, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring that company policies are followed regarding vehicle maintenance, accident prevention, fuel efficiency, and other driving practices.
  • Provide training for new employees on safety procedures and company policies.
  • Develop and recommend vehicle management systems for efficient and effective operation, usage, maintenance, and replacement of vehicles.
  • Conducting regular safety inspections of vehicles to ensure that they are in good working condition.
  • Ensures that all vehicles are operated in accordance with the enterprises policy and government traffic regulations and ensure all vehicles have updated insurance coverage according to the policy.
  • Ensures that all vehicles are maintained properly on time and ensure all enterprises vehicles undergo annual road-worthy inspection.
  • Maintain regular records of mileages travelled, consumption of fuel against mileage, oil and tires, downtimes report and take timely actions in cases of irregularities.
  • Ensures adequate provision of transportation services are availed to departments and units.
  • Prepare and secure budget for vehicle, spare parts, and accessories; as well as make necessarily follow up to purchase required vehicles and ordered items. Give technical recommendations on the vehicles to be purchased.
  • Establish smooth and efficient relationship with external suppliers and garages.
  • Maintaining safety standards for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians.
  • Managing a team of Fleet Associates and Drivers

Job Requirements

Education & Certification: Degree from recognized university in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Technologies and valid Auto driving license.

Experience: Minimum 4 years of related work experience in an FMCG’s environment.

  • Resourcefulness, follow up and persistence.
  • Multitasking, result oriented person.
  • Confident MS Excel and PowerPoint user,
  • Recommendable communication skill both in English and Amharic.
