Job Description


Zeleman is an Ethiopian, integrated full service, communications, advertising and production agency.  Since our company’s founding seventeen years ago, we have created hundreds of creative advertising campaigns for some of the biggest advertisers in the country.

Job Summary

The Business Unit Director with proven long term experience in marketing/brand communications and project management will lead a team to deliver for large client in telecom sector.

Key Performance Indicators include:

  • Take full responsibility of the financial upkeep of the account by ensuring the account runs efficiently and undertaking financial negotiations for client fees.
  • Successfully and profitably direct each piece of business, as well as retain and grow existing business where additional potential exists
  • Proactively identify opportunities and lead the development and presentation of pitches/proposals to new and existing clients
  • Manage, maintain and grow internal and external professional relationships in order to generate the best outcome for the business and client health during the year
  • Effectively manage the account team by fostering a constructive work environment and teamwork and building initiatives when needed
  • Manage all ERP related administration reports, timesheets
    Ensure quality and efficiency (turn-around time) across the business
  • Train and motivate the account team members by developing their abilities
  • Ability to present and sell creative work.
  • Giving direction, reviewing and approving work before it is sent to client.
  • Implementing initiatives at the Company that help build a strong Company culture.

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field such as business administration or management.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a client service role preferable in international environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills – excellent presenter and confident at communicating at a senior level, including facilitation
  • Experienced networker and relationship builder on global level
  • Strong problem-solving skill to anticipate or identify challenges and develop solutions
  • Profound time and stress management skills
  • Autonomous – taking ownership and responsibility
  • High level of reporting skills
  • Leads and mentors by example, establishes trust and respect.
  • Drives change through teams to nurture personal development and performance
  • Sound financial acumen in reporting and forecasting as well as resource allocation and planning
  • Ability to adapt in the moment and responsive to change
  • Think outside the box and challenge the norm
  • Computer savvy
