Job Description


The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Assistant Store Keeper position who meet the following requirements.

Job Summary

Assistant Store Keeper is responsible managing the organization’s inventory by performing various tasks related to receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist in receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Help monitor inventory levels and perform stock checks under the guidance of the Store Keeper.
  • Assist in processing requisitions for supplies and materials needed by various departments.
  • Issue items as per approved requisitions, ensuring accurate quantities and specifications.
  • Support the maintenance of detailed and up-to-date records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issuances, and returns.
  • Assist in preparing reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and consumption patterns.
  • Assist in organizing the storeroom for efficient space utilization, easy access, and proper segregation of items.
  • Help implement labeling and categorization systems to facilitate quick retrieval of items.
  • Assist in inspecting incoming supplies and materials to ensure they meet specified quality standards.
  • Report any issues with quality and assist in returning defective items to suppliers.
    Support in Picking & packing of supplies
  • Updating of Bin cards
  • Assist in coordinating with suppliers and vendors to schedule deliveries and address discrepancies in received items.
  • Communicate any stock-related issues to the Store Keeper or senior staff.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and organizational policies related to the handling and storage of items.
  • Participate in periodic audits and compliance checks, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Assist in ensuring proper maintenance of storage equipment and tools used in the storeroom.
  • Report any malfunctions or repairs needed to the Store Keeper or senior staff

Reports to: Deputy Head, Asset Management Department

Duty station: NEBE Head Quarter, Addis Ababa

Duration: Permanent

Salary: As per the organization salary scale (Competitive)

Requirements

Education and Work Experience: 3 years and Diploma |1 years and Bachelor In supply chain & logistics management or development related job positions.

Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of storekeeping and inventory management principles.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Ability to lift and move moderate-weight items when necessary.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ethical mindset with a commitment to transparency, integrity, and responsible storekeeping practices.
  • Knowledge of country supply chain metrics
