Pragma Investment Advisory is a boutique business and financial advisory firm with a primary focus on creating positive economic impact in Ethiopia by developing strategic entry & growth planning for individuals and companies demonstrating investment interest in the country. Our firm is run by principal advisors who have established strategic alliances with highly-qualified consultants whose professional backgrounds range from working for some of the largest consulting firms in the world to Emerging Market-focused private equity companies. Our consultants are deployed on a project-by-project basis to ensure each assignment is carried out with the involvement of industry specialists synergically positioned to deliver the best results, ultimately allowing the client to make well-informed decisions.

Pragma provides a wide array of market entry strategy, transaction advisory and technology integration services, and is involved in corporate event management and training provision.Our expanding advisory firm is looking for a full-time Analyst to create long-term, trusting relationships with our clients and partners. The Analyst’s role is to, among others, oversee a portfolio of clients, perform financial analysis, handle professional communications, develop new business from new and existing clients, and ensure project tasks are delegated to relevant teams.

About the job

We are looking for a full-time Analyst to create long-term, trusting relationships with our clients and partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Tracking company financial performance, analyzing business performance and market conditions to create forecasts, and helping senior management make tactical and strategic decisions by providing periodic reports
• Produce reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting
• Building detailed financial models for public and private companies
• Maintain knowledge and keep abreast of new investment regulations and policies
• Coordinating communications between clients, the Pragma team, and other partners.
• Preparing and carrying out presentations and pitches to clients
• Overseeing the performance of junior analysts and interns, and act as their guide whenever required
• Attending, as needed, a wide array of networking events by representing Pragma and generating leads while promoting the firm
• Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations
• Working with the Managing Partners to determine plans for short and long-term goals
• Ensuring compliance/due diligence to standard operating procedures/policies and relevant legislation in all aspects of work
• Assisting with any other relevant task as required

Qualifications/Requirements

• University degree in areas of finance, accounting, business administration, economics and related fields of study
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in consultancy, corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, investment management, or other related fields
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling
• Attention to accuracy and detail required
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent inter-personal, report writing and communication skills
• Effective time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Fluent in Amharic and English (writing & speaking)
