The Adult ICU Nurse provides critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions. This role involves continuous monitoring, administering treatments, and ensuring the stability of patients requiring intensive medical attention. The ICU Nurse at Addis Ababa Silkroad General Hospital will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to changes promptly.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed.
• Operate and maintain life-support equipment, including ventilators and monitors.
• Assist doctors during medical procedures and emergencies.
• Educate and support patients’ families about care and recovery processes
• .Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including monitoring vital signs, hemodynamic status, neurological function, and other critical parameters.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, adjusting as needed based on the patient’s condition.
• Provide expert nursing interventions to manage complex medical conditions, including but not limited to, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal disorders.
• Anticipate, recognize, and promptly respond to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate emergency measures as necessary.
• Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, provide updates, and address any concerns.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses to care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and evidence-based practice to enhance patient outcomes.
• Maintain proficiency in advanced life support and critical care nursing skills through ongoing education and training.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure a safe patient care environment.
• Write records accordingly and timely
