Job Description


Job Purpose

To lead the plant’s mechanical and electrical/automation maintenance functions, ensuring machinery, utilities and control systems are reliably maintained to maximize uptime, safety and operational efficiency.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a preventive and corrective maintenance program covering mechanical, electrical and automation systems.
  • Plan and supervise the daily work of the Mechanical Team and the Electrical and Automation Team.
  • Prioritize and coordinate breakdown response to minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain an up-to-date equipment/asset register and maintenance history for all critical plant machinery.
  • Manage spare parts planning, stock levels and procurement requests in coordination with the Plant Manager.
  • Ensure maintenance work is carried out safely, in line with lock-out/tag-out and electrical safety procedures.
  • Support installation, commissioning and handover of new equipment or plant upgrades.
  • Monitor and control the maintenance budget, including spare parts, tools and contracted services.
  • Analyze recurring breakdowns/failures and drive root-cause corrective and reliability-improvement actions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and technical documentation (drawings, manuals).
  • Train, mentor and evaluate mechanical and electrical/automation technicians.
  • Coordinate with the Process and Operation Supervisor to schedule planned maintenance with minimal production impact.
About You

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong maintenance planning and asset-management skills (preventive/predictive maintenance).
  • Solid technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical and basic automation/PLC systems.
  • Leadership and team-management ability across multi-disciplinary technical teams.
  • Root-cause analysis and structured troubleshooting skills.
  • Budgeting and spare-parts inventory management.
  • Good command of maintenance documentation and reporting tools.

Working Conditions

  • Plant-based role requiring regular shop-floor presence, with availability for urgent breakdown call-outs outside normal hours. Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards typical of a processing plant, requiring strict PPE and safety-procedure compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of industrial maintenance experience, ideally in edible oil, food processing or similar manufacturing.
  • At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or team-lead maintenance role.
