Job Purpose: -To assist the cuppers with roasting coffee as needed to ensure maximum quality, with careful attention to detail and full attention to sample production needs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Roasts coffee beans to specific profiles, considering factors like temperature, time, and airflow.
• Monitors and adjusts roasting equipment to ensure consistent quality and flavor.
• Conducts quality control checks to assess the aroma, color, and taste of roasted coffee.
• Cleans and maintains roasting equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Collaborates with coffee buyers and suppliers to source high-quality beans.
• Develops and experiments with new roast profiles and blends.
• Keeps detailed records of roast profiles and inventory management.
• Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Develops, test and manages coffee roast recipes and profiles.
• Checks Regularly roast profiles to ensure they meet expected standards.
• Sets up, prepares, and maintains sample roaster for use in evaluating coffees.
• Assess the recipe and profile recorded information for accuracy and consistency.
• Ensures the roast values are within an acceptable range of reference.
• Ensures that roast failures are recorded and referenced in future recipes.
• Creates the weekly and daily roasting schedule.
• Conducts regular quality checks throughout the day to ensure green bean and final roasting weights are being recorded accurately.
• Assists and learns to maintain roasting equipment in clean condition for peak operation.
• Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
