Job Description


Job Title: Project Accountant & Admin Assistant

Organization: Wako Gutu Foundation

Location: Jigjiga, Somali, Ethiopia (MEAL & HEALTH Project)
Terms of Employment: One-year contract with the possibility of extension

Brief Background

Wako Gutu Foundation (WGF) is a non-governmental organization promoting the inclusion of pastoral and agro-pastoral communities in Ethiopia’s development process. Founded in memory of General Waqo Gutu, WGF is committed to advancing the social and economic welfare of these communities.

Purpose

The Project Accountant & Admin Assistant will manage project finances, ensure compliance with donor guidelines, and provide administrative support for project activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, expenses, and reports.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and process payments.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and donor requirements.
  • Provide administrative support, including procurement, logistics, and record-keeping.
  • Assist with organizing meetings, schedules, and HR-related tasks.
About You

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • BA or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • Three years of experience for Diploma holders or Two years for BA holders.
  • NGO experience is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (Peachtree).
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in Afaan Oromo, Somali, Amharic, and English.
