Job Title: Geologist

Reports to: Coal Distribution and Marketing Manager

Department: Distribution and Marketing

Main Responsibility

Under the direction of Coal Distribution and Marketing Manager, a geologist is primarily responsible for ensuring that coal products meet customer specifications and quality standards. To analyze coal samples to determine its properties such as ash content, sulfur content, and calorific value. Also be involved in blending different types of coal to achieve desired properties and meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities and Authorities

• Inspect, collect, organize and analyze physico-chemical characteristics of coal samples within his capacity or through competent designed laboratory as per the company value procedure and customer requirement.
• Ensure coal shipments meet the specific quality requirements and specifications outlined in customer contracts.
• Implementing quality control procedures of a company to minimize variations in coal quality.
• Assisting customers in optimizing coal usage for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshooting any coal-related problems experienced.
• Reporting the number of trucks leaving the site daily and ensuring that all trucks meet quality standards.
• Collaborating with other departments to optimize the entire coal distribution process.
