Job Description


Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA) is a non-political, non-religious, and not-for-profit local civil society organization working in areas of sustainable wetland/ natural resources management, livelihoods improvement and poverty reduction with an aim to achieve the dual goals of environment and development in Ethiopia. EWNRA in a partner and with financial support from Menschen für Menschen Switzerland is in a process to start the implementation of a three years (2025 – 2027) project entitled: “Building Sustainable Livelihood Project” in Raphe Woreda, Gedo Zone South Ethiopia Regional State. 

 

In order to facilitate the implementation, EWNRA is looking for competent and well experienced applicants to fill the following vacant posts.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Under supervision of and accountable to the Project Coordinator the Crop and Horticulture Officer will be in charge of project activities to be implemented within local communities in all Raphe project intervention kebeles. Responsible for implementation of project activities which include interactive training and learning support on crop production, vegetable and fruit production, coffee management, nursery and seedling management, coffee processing, taking actions in collaboration with project intervention woreda agriculture office and other pertinent organizations. Responsible for preparing monthly reports for the activities undertaken within the woredas to the PPME Officer, keep appropriate records of community members who are supported by the project. Work in close collaboration with other staff members within the project. Responsible for preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual reports for the activities undertaken within the project intervention kebeles.

Duty station: Raphe Township with extensive travel to project intervention Kebeles

About You

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

The potential candidate for the post should have Bachelor/M Sc Degree from recognized Universities/Colleges in Agriculture fields (Crop Husbandry, Horticulture (incorporating Coffee Agronomy) or other closely related fields. Besides, s/he should have at least 6 years of demonstrable work experience in areas of agriculture including Horticulture at community level for B Sc holders and four years for M Sc holders. NGO experience is an advantage.
