Job Description


Organization for social service, health and Development (OSSHD) previously known by OSSA is the first and pioneer organization in fight against HIV and AIDS in Ethiopia. It was established in 1990 by religious organizations, international agencies and cooperation of the national ministry of health with the overall goal of contributing to the national effort of prevention and control of the spread of HVI/AIDS. Since 2016, OSSHD shifted to focus on the diverse introduction of programmatic areas such as SRH, Prevention of gender-based violence (GBV), Water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Harm reduction, Maternal Neonatal and child Health (MNCH), Treatment of NTDs and livelihood.

The organization would like to hire a well experienced and competent applicant for the new Gavi Impact Grant for the following position.

Job Summary

 

The senior Monitoring and Evaluation officer will be responsible to develop and implement a robust M&E framework for the project. In addition, he/she will ensure data collection, analysis, and reporting processes are in place and adhered to. Besides, He/she will be responsible to provide technical support and capacity building for project staff and stakeholders. Moreover, the senior M&E officer is the prime focal person for report writing, data analysis ana collecting different case stories, lessons learned and best practices.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Design and refine the M&E framework aligned with project goals and objectives.
  • Oversee data collection, management, and analysis; ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Prepare regular M&E reports for stakeholders and facilitate the dissemination of findings.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for project staff on M&E best practices.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations to enhance M&E efforts.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project implementation and collect feedback.
  • Monitor Data Quality Assurance implementation and Data use culture in every project implementation of an organization.
  • Ensure the required program data is of the highest quality and timely by working with branch and project offices.
  • Develop appropriate strategies, tools, and build capacity to strengthen DQAs and data use culture and at the supported operational facilities
  • Review data management and mentorship guidelines and checklists
  • Analyze the data collected and provide feedback for the regional and /or facility team.
  • Build capacity on project information management system at different levels through organizing mentorship, training, and workshops.
  • Define and implement data standards, ensuring data quality of all data sources and business systems.

 

Duty station: OSSHD Head Office, Addis Ababa

 

Number of positions: One (1)

 

Reports to: Senior EPI Coordinator 

 

Salary      :                      As per the organizational scale

 

Contract Period:     One year and six months

About You

Required Educational Background

 

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in M&E in health programs, preferably in immunization.

 

Required Skills and Experiences:

 

  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Power-BI SPSS, STATA, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Experience designing, testing, and implementing information systems and data tools, including mobile applications, transactional systems, business intelligence implementations and interoperability solutions preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
